Que eu não esteja a me iludir, a me enganar com palavras, com aparência, com ostentação, regalias, mas esteja a desembaraçar disso minhas emoções, estando atento com o comportamento, atitudes com seus resultados/consequências; contexto, fundamentação. Pois as primeiras jamais devem ganhar peso para a formação de minhas conclusões. Aquelas não servem para constatar nada, e sim estas últimas.

May I not delude or deceive myself with words, appearances, ostentation, or perks; instead, may I disentangle my emotions from these things, remaining attentive to behavior and attitudes—along with their results and consequences, their context, and their underlying rationale. For the former should never carry weight in the formation of my conclusions; it is the latter that truly serve to establish the facts.
